10.10pm - JONATHAN WHISKERD
Jonathan Whiskerd is a truly gifted writer and performer who puts the heart back into pop. A tangle of influences, including John Mayer and Crowded House, result in some of the truest and emotionally-charged new music.
9.30pm - ECHO WANTS HER VOICE BACK
Echo Wants Her Voice Back, fronted by singer/songwriter Eleni Skarpari and guitarist Maw Concas, is an acoustic folk/rock duo based in South-West London, often performing with guest percussionist Courtney Anglin. Eleni credits Echo and Narcissus, their dysfunctional love and the latter’s timely death, as her main sources of inspiration for the band’s name and current songs. Blurring the lines of folk music and rock, EWHVB have a style that is truly their own with a plethora of musical tastes and backgrounds ranging from such diverse artists as PJ Harvey, Ani Difranco, Bon Iver, Jeff Buckley and Metric, to Anouk, Pink, Regina Spektor and Lady Gaga. After playing a countless number of shows in the past year in London, EWHVB is preparing to record their debut album. The band’s single ‘Pink Shorts’ (music by Eleni Skarpari/Labrini Grigoriadou; lyrics by Eleni Skarpari) was nominated in the Song of the Year International Songwriting contest and was also recently aired on BBC 6 radio, with an introduction by Tom Robinson.
