Emma Wilson is from North Yorkshire and formed her own band “Ask the Cat” at 16 performing mainly Motown and Stax Covers. She then joined Soul Revue Band “LTK and The Barhops” with her brother Simon Wilson and they fronted the show with another singer.The band played the same circuit as Zoot and The Roots (Snake Davis & Miles Gilderdale) and Emma guested with The Snake Davis Band on various gigs. Simon Wilson went on to be signed to IRS Records with his band “29 Palms” and Emma worked on the albums as a backing singer and percussionist.The exposure gained from this project enabled Emma to acquire more session work and she relocated to London where she formed “The Emma Wilson Band” touring the acoustic circuit playing original songs,releasing the album “Valentine” and opening for the likes of Mary Black and The Fine Young Cannibals. Emma worked as a music promoter for 10 years forming her own company “Live Nights London” promoting unsigned bands at 5 venues across London. Emma also works as a vocal coach and has taught many artists in development for various record companies and also coached at London Music School and WAC. A new venture for Emma is being a Radio Host with her own show “Sunday Speakeasy” interviewing luminaries of the music world an playing an eclectic mix of songs. Emma continues perform with her own Blues Band gigging at Ronnie Scotts Jazz Club and The London Blues Festival 2011 and as a guest for other bands most recently The Ronnie Scotts Blues Experience and heavy blues outfit Pig Iron.
